Atlantide 2025 is created by the only surviving member of THE TRIP’s historic trio. Furio Chirico’s THE TRIP revisits the present-day state of the mythic continent of Atlantis, fifty years after the band’s monolithic album. While embracing newly shaped musical and philosophical ideas—echoing a sense of recurring déjà vu—the album preserves the original song structures, enriching them with expanded guitar parts, personalized interpretations, and newly crafted arrangements for greater energy and impact. Atlantide 2025 is not a sequel or a repetition of the original Atlantide (1972). Rather, it is a modern reinterpretation (2025) of the historic project celebrated in the original album—hence the title Atlantide 2025.
The album opens with an original track, “Ouverture 2025”, written as a tribute to Joe Vescovi. The Japanese edition also includes special bonus tracks, including the original “Prelude” (dedicated to “ATLANTIDE 2025”) and the legendary “Corale” (from 1973’s “TIME OF CHANGE”), a song never performed live by the trio at the time, presented as a bold and original interpretation and a unique arrangement performed by the lineup: Furio Chirico (drums), Paolo “Silver” Silvestri (Hammond, piano, keyboards), Giuseppe “Gius” Lanari (vocals, bass), Marco Rostagno (guitars).
This album includes a mini documentary film, on DVD in the Japanese edition – the Access QR code and password to access the multimedia video content in the worldwide edition. The video contains approximately 17 minutes of previously unseen footage (with Japanese subtitles for the Japanese edition and English subtitles for the rest of the world edition) of the historic trio during the making of ATLANTIDE in 1972, with rare footage from the era (including recording scenes at the legendary Villa Rosso, real-life scenes, and interviews).

THE TRIP, the Italo-British band formed in London in 1966, became the starting point of “progressive” music in Italian music history. With Atlantide, released in 1972 by Joe Vescovi, Arvid “Wegg” Andersen, and Furio Chirico, the band defined its sound as progressive rock and achieved major worldwide success.
The story of THE TRIP continued in 2022, fifty years after the release of the masterpiece Atlantide, with the birth of Furio Chirico’s THE TRIP: a new lineup led by Furio Chirico (the only remaining member of the historic trio), reviving the vision and sound of the original 1972 breakthrough. Alongside drummer Furio Chirico are outstanding musicians: Paolo “Silver” Silvestri (Hammond, synthesizers, vocals), Giuseppe “Gius” Lanari (lead vocals, bass), and Marco Rostagno (guitar, vocals).
“Equinox” is the new concept album by Furio Chirico’s THE TRIP, with the primary goal of opening new paths, advancing musical research and experimentation—with no nostalgic approach—while remaining deeply rooted in the most authentic progressive rock sound conceived by the original trio. The media are enthusiastic about the upcoming release of Equinox: Euro-Rock Press, the most prestigious Japanese music magazine, dedicated its entire cover to the band, stating:
“The legendary rock band THE TRIP has made a miraculous return with the new album Equinox by Furio Chirico’s THE TRIP!”

One of the historical members of two fundamental Italian historical bands of progressive rock and jazz rock; The Trip and Arti & Mestieri. Over 50 years of career as a musician and music educator, in 2002 he took over the direction of the AMM headquarters at the Accademia Musica Moderna Torino, also as a drum teacher. Numerous are the students of Chirico who improve and play in Italy and abroad, also through collaborations between Italy and the USA with teachers from the prestigious BERKLEE University.
Chirico is the one and only Italian drummer who has played at the drummer’s Hall of Fame: Modern Drummer Festival in the U.S.A. In 2008 he was counted as Superdrummer along with five other drummers among the most important in the world today by the authoritative American magazine DRUMHEAD.
Furio plays with TAMA, UFiP, VATER, EVANS, Kimerism Gongs.
Paolo “Silver” Silvestri is an Italian Hammond organist, keyboardist and composer.
He collaborated with Ian Paice (Deep Purple), Bernie Marsden (Whitesnake), Clive Bunker (Jethro Tull) and Andrea Braido (guitarist with top Italian bands).
Since 1997, Silver has been the keyboard player of Silver Mirror, a tribute band to Deep Purple, Rainbow and Whitesnake.
Since 2019, Silver has been the Hammond organist, keyboardist and a composer with Furio Chirico’s THE TRIP, where he recorded the albums Equinox (2022) and Atlantide 2025.
Alessio Trapella is a musician and producer from Italy, described by critics as “eclectic and uncompromising.” His training is rooted in academic studies of Double Bass and Composition at the Conservatory of Adria, which he began at a very young age, and soon intertwined with his passion for rock music, creating a personal language capable of blending rigor and experimentation.
Among his most significant experiences in the classical field stands out his collaboration with the “Luigi Cherubini” Youth Orchestra conducted by Maestro Riccardo Muti (2010–2012).
In the world of Italian progressive rock, he has performed and recorded with Aldo Tagliapietra, UT New Trolls (2013–2016), and from 2017 to 2021 was a member of Le Orme.
In 2023 he released his first solo album, La ricerca dell’imperfezione (The Search for Imperfection), a project that marks the beginning of a new artistic phase, free and uncompromising. Trapella continues to explore imperfection as a form of sonic truth, seeking new paths with consistency, curiosity, and vision, and is now ready to let his new album ICARO take flight, scheduled for release on October 10, 2025.
Marco Rostagno is an Italian musician and composer.
He began studying and performing live at a very young age with various bands throughout Italy, winning numerous contests.
He collaborated both in the studio and on stage for several rock projects before officially joining the band Trip in 2019.
In 2021, after a long course of study, he graduated in Electric Guitar with top marks, honors, and distinction from the Lizard Music Academy in Turin.
In 2022, he collaborated in the studio on the album Control-Z by Post Generation.
In November of the same year, he released the album Equinox with Trip, performing it live in many prestigious venues.
In 2025, he wrote the guitar parts and arranged the band’s historic album Atlantide for the release of the new version, Atlantide 2025.
